Third Theft Accused Remanded In Custody

A MAN accused of breaking into the David Jones department store at Kotara and stealing camcorders and a laptop computer worth more than $19,000 was remanded in custody yesterday to appear in Newcastle Local Court on February 20.

Mathew Wayne Fleming, 25, of Railway Road, New Lambton, did not enter a plea when he appeared in Toronto Local Court charged with breaking, entering and stealing at the store between 6.17pm and 6.40pm on January 25.

Jason Colin Aldred, 22, unemployed, of Fitzroy Street, Mayfield, and Ben Lee Lenton, 25, forklift driver, of Croudace Road, Elermore Vale, are facing the same charges and have been remanded to appear in Newcastle Local Court on February 20 and March 29, respectively.
